Senior Dynamics 365 BC Consultant

You will work closely with clients from the discovery and fit-gap stages through configuration, testing, training, and go-live support. This position is client-facing and calls for deep knowledge of Business Central, strong project delivery skills, and the ability to help stakeholders find practical solutions.

LOCATION
This position is remote within the U.S. and may require occasional travel for important client meetings.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
• Lead Business Central projects from the initial discovery phase through go-live and stabilization
• Oversee project recovery by identifying issues, regaining control, and setting a clear path forward
• Advocate for clients by making sure stakeholders have transparency, accountability, and the information they need to make decisions with confidence
• Provide leadership in functional design and configuration for Business Central, focusing on finance or taking a broader approach as needed
• Maintain strong delivery practices, including thorough documentation, effective testing strategies, clear training plans, and readiness for go-live
• Work closely with technical teams, partners, and clients to remove obstacles, reduce risks, and help projects succeed
Responsibilities
• Lead discovery workshops, interview stakeholders, and review current processes to set project scope and priorities
• Analyze gaps between current and desired states, then turn business needs into a clear, workable solution design
• Configure Business Central to match client business processes, whether finance-focused or general, and confirm results with stakeholders
• Take responsibility for all functional documentation, such as requirements, designs, test scripts, and user guides
• Lead planning and support for user acceptance testing, handling defect triage, setting priorities, retesting, and preparing for release
• Create and provide training and support to help end users and administrators adopt the system
• Guide planning for go-live, ensure readiness for cutover, and support stabilization after launch by managing and resolving issues in an organized way
• Work closely with technical teams on integrations, extensions, data migration, and preparing the environment
• Share clear updates with executives, including status, risks, decisions needed, and plans to address any issues
• Mentor other consultants and raise delivery standards by creating templates, playbooks, and reusable tools
COMPENSATION
The base salary is $120,000-$160,000, paid biweekly, plus a performance-based bonus.
REQUIREMENTS
• 5+ years of Dynamics NAV and/or Dynamics 365 Business Central experience in a consulting or implementation environment
• Proven Solution Lead ownership on full-cycle implementations (discovery through go-live and stabilization)
• Strong Finance process understanding and/or generalist ERP capability across core operational processes
• Demonstrated strength in fit-gap analysis, requirements facilitation, and business process mapping
• Ability to produce high-quality functional documentation (requirements, functional design, test scripts, training materials)
• Experience leading UAT and supporting go-live readiness and post-go-live support
• Working knowledge of data migration activities (templates, import validation, reconciliation, cutover coordination)
• Exceptional client-facing communication skills, including executive-ready updates and recommendations
• Ability to operate with urgency and structure in recovery scenarios
• Authorized to legally work in the U.S. (sponsorship not available)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central/NAV certifications (preferred, not required)
• Experience in industries such as manufacturing, distribution, professional services, healthcare, or financial services
• Familiarity with common BC reporting approaches and tooling and how reporting requirements impact design
• Experience coordinating integrations and third-party add-ons
